Three Notes on the Video by Infographics Show - or Four

These are supplementary to my actual comments under video.

  • There was no essayist writing in 1802 that every hereditary monarch was insane.

    Instead, the essayist seems to have been Walter Bagehot, who was not even born back in 1802, but writes about that year in retrospect. His actual lifespan was 3 February 1826 – 24 March 1877.

    And he also was not saying that every hereditary monarch was in fact insane.

    Here are the actual words:

    It has been said, not truly, but with a possible approximation to truth, that in 1802 every hereditary monarch was insane.

    The examples would be George III and Mary I of Portugal, both treated by same physician, see next note, and also Christian VII, whose physician Struensee personally profitted by the diagnosis, since he was de facto ruling Denmark-Norway at first. Even when he was replaced, he was hardly in a position to say he had been wrong or lied.

    So, Infographics video showed a clear either incompetence or dishonesty in letters, and considering the general incompetence in letters of the persons whose main education is either science or economics, I'd venture the latter.

  • The common physician to George III and Mary I of Portugal was one Francis Willis. One could without absurdity write it F. WILLIS.

    One can consider him as ancestral to modern psychiatry and partly also eugenics, and as therefore at least a minor Antichrist.

(I seem to have too many here, I must have doubled one or two, I thought I had to few, but generations interlocking and several being unknown - as to wikipedian lore - not very far back makes for a very drastic reduction : Mary I of Portugal had more coinciding, but nearly all known).
